Holiday Activities For Your Stay In Our Apartments
Ribadesella has many different activities for you to enjoy during your stay, from beach sports to large parties.
Every year the Descenso del sella is held in Asturias. It is one of the most popular festivals in the region and is well known throughout the country as well. The Descenso del sella is a canoe race that starts at the town of Arriondas and follows the Sella river to the finish line at Ribadesella.
On the day of the race massive crowds will gather in Ribadesella to watch as the canoes cross the finish line. There is also a huge fiesta afterwards, with music, drinks and celebrations.
But there are also activities for those who prefer a calmer and more relaxed lifestyle. There are many interesting walks in and around Ribadesella, for example, el Paseo de la Grúa is a promenade opposite the beach that follows the mountain base and ends at a natural swimming pool. The walk also has several artworks on the cliffside depicting the local history of the town.
There's also a small monastery at the top of the small mountain with the stone remains of an old fort, with old cannons facing towards the sea.
If you’re a hiking enthusiast then you’ll be excited to know there are various different trails through forests, mountains and caves. And if you really like caves, you may be interested in the Cueva de Tito Bustillo, an ancient cave filled with cave paintings from the cavemen who inhabited the caves thousands of years ago.
And if the cave art interests you, you may be interested in the Centro de Arte located right next to the caves, which contains a permanent exhibition on the artwork within the caves and their history.
