Sandy Beaches Just Minutes Away From The Apartments

Although the south of Spain is famous for its tourist flooded beaches, the true hidden gems of Spain lie to the north, with its beautiful beaches in towns like Ribadesella.

The largest of Ribadesella’s beaches is called the Playa De Santa Marina which is over a kilometre long and stretches from the marina to the sea.

Behind the beach there is a promenade called the “Paseo Agustín de Argüelles Marina” that follows along the beach but continues further along the cliffs. The Promenade also has several cafes and restaurants, though not too many so as to crowd the walkways.

The beach is also a popular place for surfers and there are multiple board and wetsuit rental services available, there are also surfing lessons available for those who are interested but have no experience.

However, La Playa De Santa Marina isn’t the only beach in Ribadesella. tucked away behind the hills and buildings is the much smaller Playa de La Atalaya. Though just over 150m long, the beauty of this beach is that due to being hidden away much less people go there, making it great for those who want to relax in a place with fewer people around.

And for those of you who feel like heading out of town for a bit, there is another large beach located just a few kilometres away, La Playa de Vega. This is another long beach but is much more isolated than the ones in Ribadesella. The Beach is close to the two small villages of Berber and Vega, but the beach itself is mostly isolated save for a bit of parking and a bar or two.
